Have you enjoyed your morning coffee today?
Grabbed a cup in the cafe on your way to the office or enjoyed brewing it, using coffee utensils at home? Coffee is a crucial ritual for many of us, not because of the kick it gives, but because of the pleasure we receive from every sip.

Do you know that your everyday coffee routine can bring you more health benefits if you convey a little trick and add a spoonful of Irish sea moss gel or powder to your hot joe?

In this article, the True Sea Moss team will reveal the life-changing secret of sea moss coffee and share the most favorite, buzz-worthy recipes.

What is Irish sea moss?

Several years ago, when spirulina blew up, the world revealed the secret of a natural approach to health. Irish sea moss is your spirulina but with a richer nutritional content.

It’s one of the Red algae species, vastly used in the culinary, medicine, and beauty industries.

On an unrelated note, let’s talk about the benefits of adding the seaweed to your hot drinks and whether should and can you mix sea moss with coffee.

At True Sea Moss we have been fulfilling the mission of spreading the benefits and accessibility of true Irish moss supplements for over four years.

We use genuine moss and only add the juice of farm-grown fruits and berries to our products to enrich the taste and provide even more nutritional benefits to our consumers.

Why add sea moss to your morning coffee?

Before all else, can you put sea moss in coffee? Since coffee is usually served hot, you might want to let coffee slightly cool down before you mix your Red algae supplement into it.

For the rest, sea moss coffee is bountiful! Let’s see how so:

  • Might give a kick to your energy. While coffee gives you a 15-minute boost, regular use of Red algae vitamins might boost your energy levels and keep you in a positive mood throughout the day. This is owing to the multiple compounds in it, such as amino acids, fatty acids, and trace minerals.
  • It calms you down. Coffee’s most common side-effect is anxiety and irritation. Magnesium and Omega-dense Irish moss can provide the feeling of tranquility(1) and relaxation, easing off worries.
  • Bolsters your immunity. Irish moss is a big-time source of antioxidants(2), especially A, E, C, and K. These minerals are not only beneficial for your skin and hair but also for your build-up immunity and its better responses.
  • Might support electrolyte balance. Caffeine in your morning coffee dehydrates you, giving you a dry feeling. It may even affect your mental performance(3) and cause fatigue. Irish sea moss might help support electrolyte balance in your body by nurturing you with its sodium, potassium, and chloride.
  • Boosts cognitive function. How often do you have coffee before a pivotal meeting or an upcoming brainstorm? This Red algae species, brimming with amino acids like tyrosine, glycine, and tryptophan, can significantly promote your mental performance(4) and improve your focus.
  • Soothes your guts and stomach membranes. Finally and unfortunately, coffee is often linked to causing acid reflux. Adding red algae to your coffee strengthens the gut's mucous membrane(5), reducing coffee's acid-induced discomfort and pain.

4 perfect Irish sea moss coffee recipes

Whether you like black coffee or coffee au lait, these recipes are easily adjustable and can even be tailored to your vegan diet. They are easy to prepare, won’t take much of your time, and — promise — you will love the cooking process!

How much sea moss to use for the recipes?

Beforehand, you want to measure the right dose of the supplement before the concoction process. For the recipes, you are more likely to use sea moss gel or the powder — the most easily dissolvable supplements of red algae.

The daily serving of sea moss gel shouldn’t exceed 2 tablespoons.

Can you put more sea moss gel in coffee? True Sea Moss gels are tasty, but you don’t want to use more than the recommended dose. Or else you will overdo the trace minerals and amino acids that your body doesn’t need in large quantities.

Choosing the right sea moss gel

You can experiment with your sea moss gel added to the coffee. If you’re suspicious about the fishy or salty taste the seaweed might give to your pleasurable drink — don’t worry, we developed a way for Red algae products to taste like baby food.

- Spirulina sea moss gel
- Tropic mix sea moss gel
- Elderberry sea moss gel

Fruity gels will easily replace a sugar-filled flavored syrup. Besides, they are already sweet, which eliminates the need to use sweeteners in your coffee recipes.
